Long Anticipated Reunion

And we're back to hockey! The big news from last night's slew of games was the Chicago-Atlanta matchup. As everyone knows, I think the Hawks were still on the ice celebrating when a chunk of their Stanley Cup winners got shipped off to keep the salary cap under control. Dustin Byfuglien, Ben Eager, Andrew Ladd and Brent Sopel were among those players and were all headed to Atlanta so it was Hawk-vs-ex-Hawk last night.

Prior to the game, the four players got to chat with the Chicago media a bit and then there was a bit of a reunion dinner with the 15 (I think thats the number) players on both teams that won the Cup together but come game day, nope, enemies.

They definitely put on a good show, taking the game all the way to a shoot out, 7 points between Kaner and Toews and points from Eager, Ladd and Byfuglien against their former team. But the Hawks prevailed and got the two points.

Speaking of shootouts, the Leafs also had one against the Sabres last night... After having the lead for the entire game... And then Hecht scoring with *13* seconds left. Overtime was uneventful and then yes, the Leafs fell in the shootout. Sigh. But hey, we learned long ago that the game isn't over until the clock reads 0.0

Speaking of the Penguins, they also came back from a 2 goal deficit against the Coyotes and won it in a shootout thanks to rookie Mark Letestu, ending their two game losing streak and giving them a 2-2 record for their road trip. There was another little reunion in this match-up as Paul Bissonnette used to be a proud Penguin. What better a way to say "oh hayyy" to a former teammate than to fight them?

BizNasty, one of my faves, tweeted about the game afterward: "Saw all my old pens teamates after the game. Great bunch of guys. Told Sid ill c him at the all star game. The fans have spoken." Hahaha, I love him
