If You Don't Have Anything Nice to Say...

I haven't mentioned the Leafs in awhile... I wonder why. After going 4-0 at the start of the season, they yelled "GOTCHA!", laughed heartily into their millions while their fans sobbed and forgot what offense is went back to sucking.

On the bright side, there is one aspect of the Leafs game that is as strong as ever despite them attempting to finish outside of the top 30 and that is their fans willingness to give them money (this time, for charity! woo!!)

Stammer is a Part-Timer

As I look at the calendar and see that it is, in fact, still November, I can only shake my head at Steven Stamkos for shaving off the gloriousness that was his stache. He abandoned his creepy "To Catch a Predator" look and is back to looking like a 12 year old

(Let's be serious, his stache was never glorious.)

Meanwhile, Crosby's stache is still going strong. I'm not sure whether or not that is a good thing...

Is it just me or does he look sad in that picture?? Poor bumblebee! I'm pretty sure he probably saw Max's fu manchu and his ego was shot.

Player of the Week: Sidney Crosby

Now now, I know, I already gave Sid 'Player of the Week' back in February so perhaps I should have chosen a different player but... last I checked, I am incredibly biased and think that Crosby can do no wrong SO expect to see me choose him over other players in the future as well.

Sid had quite the week, continuing his scoring streak to 12 games, including a lil' hat trick against Iggy and the Flames on Saturday - making it his third year in a row getting a hat trick on the day after Black Friday (ohh hayyy, he also got his 200th career NHL goal that game. No biggie). And for the second week in a row, he was named one of the NHL's Stars of the Week. Oh right, and the second week's voting results came in for the all star game and he is sitting around 218,000. Seriously, if that is not the definition of a smoke show, I'm at a loss.

Oh yeah, and he also came within inches of joining his former landlord (former? I know he bought a house but then I heard the house wasn't ready so he was still chillin' with Mario until it was. Anyways, irrelevant) in his superstar moves of scoring a goal in 5 different ways: even-strength, power play, short-handed, penalty shot and empty net. Crosby scored an even-strength and power play goal and then netted a short-handed empty netter at the end of the game. Had he been able to solve Kiprusoff in the first period when he had a penalty shot, he would've scored five ways.... with four goals.

Aaaaanywho, this week also marks the registration week for 'Little Penguins' Learn to Skate program, which Crosby personally funds (along with the Pens, Dick's Sporting Goods, Reebok and whoever else) to help give kids the chance to play hockey when their parents may not otherwise be able to afford it. He also does hands on stuff with the kids

(Side note, I don't want to hear musings of him just doing this for the camera. I warned you - Sid can do no wrong in my eyes. I won't listen to what you say anyways)

Ohh hayyyy, also, just watching the Rangers-Pens game as I write this and Sid just assisted on Letang's goal, putting his scoring streak up to 13 games bitchesssssss

I'm sure he is quite happy.

Best Team Videos - Hockeywood

This week's best team videos' topic is really random but I just really wanted to post the LA Kings appearance on the Price is Right video, lol

(Seriously, lack of acting skills. Still love it though)

(Haha, I think that is the cutest thing ever! What a jokester)

Because 200th Career Goal Isn't Big Enough a Milestone

Revenge for missing a penalty shot: a hat trick that encompasses your 200th NHL career goal.

Player of the Week: Steven Stamkos's Stache

Steven Stamkos has been playing absolutely phenomenally thus far this season - 21 goals in 22 games (working towards 50 in 50) and 38 points thus far, giving him end of season projections of 78 goals and 141 points. Crosby is a close second to him in points with 36 but he has played one more game than Stammer and his successes only seem to motivate Stamkos to work harder (and vice versa).

Yeah, So Stammer is doing well. But I sort of expect that from him now. So when I was watching the highlights from the game against the Rangers, I was kind of like 'Yep, there he goes again." Until it showed a close up of his face. I thought to myself 'Hmm, what a weird camera angle... It's casting a shadow on his upper lip almost as if... OH MY GOD, HE HAS A STACHE!!!!!"

Remember the time he told us all about this pirate Halloween costume from when he was little and his mom used tea leaves to give him a fake beard? Then he told us that he was still working on his beard today.

Really, all I can think is: is there anything this kid can't do? He doubled his goals scored and points from his first year to his second and all signs indicate he will improve those totals this year as well. And THEN, somehow, he puts his mind to growing better facial hair and poof! Moustache!

Happy American Thanksgiving!

(I just chuckled away at James Wright's comment: "Same thing... just at the *real* time")

(ewwww sweet potato casserole, grosssssss)

Happy Thanksgiving guys!

Who's Laughing Now?

NHL Besties

So! The idea for this post came from the "controversy" of the Washington-New Jersey game the other night when apparently after the game (in the hallway), Ovechkin and Semin met up with their Team Russia друг (I totally looked up how to saw friend in Russian) Kovalchuk and started catching up and laughing. Is anyone else saying "Uhhh... so what?"

Yeah I didn't even hear about it until they fully talked about it last night, discussing whether or not they crossed a line

You know what, I never thought I'd say this in my life and while I will never EVER like Ovechkin, this makes me hate him slightly less. Yeah, the Caps got blanked by the Devils and I'm sure Semin and Ovechkin weren't too pleased about it but it's one game in an 82 game season, I like that they are able to leave their jobs on the ice and catch up with a friend (it's no longer funny to use the Russian word for it). You can see Bruce Boudreau's displeasure when they were interviewing him (because the bestie reunion was happening just around the corner from it or something and you could hear the guys giggling and gossiping) but geeze, cut them some slack, I think they are allowed to have friends outside the team. Maybe not the smartest idea to have the reunion 2 feet away from a full press conference but whatever, these guys are allowed to have a life outside of hockey

This makes me think of the other NHL besties (opposing teams only, we don't need any Jeff Carter-Mike Richards bromance reminder here).

Stamkos and Del Zotto
These lil' GTA buddies grew up playing hockey together and still work out together in the summer. Del Zotto actually goes through the roster of their Markham team that apparently was just future-NHLer-central.

They also work out with Steve Downie, who has redeemed himself slightly by showing the world Del Zotto's abs. HELLO!!!! Where have you been hiding!

Crosby and Johnson
Sidney Crosby and Jack Johnson became insta-besties when they both went to boarding school at Shattuck-St Mary's in tenth grade. They still get together to this day during the rare times their teams play each other - Johnson actually wrote about it in his blog ("We beat Phoenix, jumped on the plane and back to L.A. Couple days of practice and Pittsburgh and my friend Sid came to town. Everyone makes such a big deal out of our friendship, but they really have no idea that when the puck drops nobody wants to win more than Sid and I do. Especially against each other.Bragging rights are HUGE!")

Video: Before the Bigs: Jack Johnson pt.3

(The talk of their bromance starts about 4 minutes in)

Ryan Kesler and Chris Conner
These lil' besties grew up together in Michigan and played minor hockey together. They like Sid and JJ, their teams rarely play each other but they got to have a lil' reunion this past week when the Canucks were finishing up their Eastern road trip in Pittsburgh

John Tavares and PK Subban
These guys didn't even have a choice whether or not to be friends - Subban's dad was best friends with Tavares' uncle. Obviously they were just destined to be. They met through their families and through hockey and then besties through two stints playing for Team Canada. There was big hype for their first game against each other last month. Also, you know, Subban has been getting complained about by some of the league's stars (Mike Richards whined about him for awhile) and I wasn't too thrilled when he mouthed off Crosby but this video makes me feel differently about him. When they show him calling his dad to tell him he made Team Canada, he is just the cutest thing ever - its obvious how much he loves hockey and yeah, I like that. Shut up Mike Richards.

Jordan, Eric and Marc Staal
It's possible that it is more genetics that are keeping these guys besties throughout the games against one another (and with them all playin the the same conference and Jordan and Marc in the same division, they play each other often) but whatever, they still count. They still have pillow fights.

(Jordan should maybe think about being an artist eh?)

Of course, then Marc got jealous and acted out.

Just as a side note, we've all seen the picture of Crosby and Malkin at the Team Canada practice in Vancouver this past February so I won't post it showing their bestie-ness, but I found this other picture of the two of them that I had never seen before and just... Malkin is the cutest thing ever. What a smile.

NHL All-Star Voting Standings

They released the voting standings for the first week of voting for the All-Star game in January and what do you know, Crosby is number one.

(I don't think anyone is actually surprised by this).

Duncan Keith came in second in overall votes, with Nicklas Lindstrom, Alex Ovechkin and Jonathan Toews rounding out the top 5.

As a side note, umm Paul Bissonnette only has about 9000 votes. I need to step up my voting game clearly. As for the rest of the Pens, Geno has 56,255 votes and Max Talbot has a solid 5,144 votes (he was a write in so I'm impressed). As for d-men, write-in Kris Letang is beating the actual ballot holder (is that what you'd call it? Awkward...) Paul Martin 50,153 to 27,970 (but really, awesome for both of them), with Brooksy and Gogo also getting quite a few write-in votes as well. Also, back-up Olympic goalie Flower (who didn't see any ice time) is currently ahead of both Luongo and Brodeur with 44,111 votes (putting him at 5th) however Carey Price (who didn't even get a nod to be included in the ballot listings or *whatever* you call them) is happily in first place right now

Anyways, since you can read this all for yourself and probably would rather it than have me ramble on a summary of it, check out to see how your voting preferences are doing!

(aaaahahahaha how fitting)

Yay!!

I don't know how I just found this out yesterday but clearly I am ridick behind on the times. Whatever, my excitement is still immense (perhaps more than it should be but whatever). Billy is back with the Pens!

Now now, before you get overly excited, he is retiring officially after Thanksgiving and will be working with the Pens organization. Woo! I was horrified when he did the try-out with the Flyers - I did *not* want to see him in orange and black

Mike Rupp can breathe a sigh of relief

24/7 Pens vs Caps Preview

So excited for this! If you missed the airing on HBO (like I did... because I don't have HBO) and have been anxiously awaiting some wonderful person to upload it onto YouTube, your wait is over! Woo!

Crosby Crazy: Fighting

I decided to start doing a weekly feature on just Sid so I can get out all my love for him at once (mainly because I want to post about him every day. Don't pretend like you don't love it).

Looking past the fact that he's so darn cute, he is just blowin' up so far this season and is on track for the best season of his career (judge away, but I'm still feeling a wee bit bitter towards Stamkos for stealing Sid's thunder. Plus I don't trust him due to his paleness. He lives in Florida. He has to at least come into contact coming from and leaving the arena, come on. I shouldn't complain - he is so much better than Ovechkin).

Annnnnywho, Sid got into his fifth NHL fight a few weeks back (and has only recently not been one of the "Top Headlines" topics on NHL.com) so I decided to do this week's Sid Speal on his willingness to drop the gloves when necessary. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think it's great that he (and some other superstars, I will give credit where credit is due) are willing to partake in the rougher side of the sport, especially since so many players avoid it. But really, emotions are high on the ice and like it or not, roughness is a part of the game and Crosby shows what a great player he truly is by being involved in all aspects of the sport.

Besides, now all news shows can rejoice because they are finally able to do "Top 5" segments on Crosby fights. It's a little bit less exciting when you do a top five... of five, but they're not always the most creative with ideas ;)

I would love for Crosby's sixth fight to be against a certain Russian I hate. I want Crosby to bop him in the nose.

He also is quite the lil' trash talker on the ice (which I feel ties in to fighting, mainly because it is convenient to fit into this posting).

(Did I not say that Crosby probably still holds a grudge against Ryan Getzlaf for rolling him up in a mattress whilst wearing only boxers? I also hold a grudge against the modern day Charlie Conway, but that is just because he didn't give me a heads up to go to Finland and wait in the lobby for when mattress-Sid came downstairs)

He's also got quite the little potty-mouth at times

All around player, all around stud

Best Hockey Pranks

It seems like one of the favourite pastimes of NHL players is playing pranks on one another while on long roadtrips. Makes sense - who wouldn't want to terrorize people you have to see every day and engage in a contact sport with?

Here are the top five pranks in my opinion!

5. Messing with a teammates car.

There are a few variations of this. There's the saran wrapping the entire car so you can't open the doors, putting vaseline on the windshield so you can't see, using your Sidney Crosby charm and stealing the keys to someone's car to fill it entirely with styrofoam packing peanuts. (Even knowing Crosby's lil' rebelliousness, I would still willingly hand my car keys over to him.)

(Hahaha look at Crosby's shift little eyes as he makes his quick getaway)

4. The Leaner

This is pretty old-school I think - leaning a pail full of ice cold water against someone's door, knocking and giddily awaiting them to get a wet surprise. Usually I wouldn't include this, its a bit too uncreative for me, but since Burish and Sharpie did it, it spiced it up obv.

3. What really goes on at the NHL All-Star Game...

Obviously the real action of the All-Star game happens in the hotel - room service fakery, Jumbo Joe raiding the maid's cart, Turco getting creamed... That hotel seems like party central, its a wonder the players even want to leave it to play. What? That commerical is fake? Don't lie to me.

2. Shattering the self-esteem of a future NHL All-Star, who probably still holds a grudge.

Seriously, rolling up a guy in a mattress in just his boxers? How did he not fight back?? Oh wait, they double teamed him! Rude. Also, as for shattering the self-esteem, I take that back, Crosby was a stud back in juniors just like he is now (I can say that without being a playground prowler as we are the same age, so it's okay. Seriously, it's okay.)

PS - Jonathan Toews is so not creative. Captain Serious needs to step up his game quite a bit to make it onto this list as one of the better prankERs rather than the number one prankEE (see number one...)

1. Any prank against Jonathan Toews.

Pranking Jonathan Toews is officially on my bucket list. Poor Captain Serious is going to be destined to a life of chucking water bottles at cars after people saran wrap his own, wandering hotel hallways (shirtless) trying to find his gym bag and getting woken up at 6 am by room service.

(See number 10. I think it deserves higher)

Honourable Mention: Ruining the Stanley Cup Finals for your Boyfriend

Like, this is what this guy deserves for cheering for the Flyers over the Hawks, but hahahah wow, this girl probably risked her life doing this, judging by the overturning of the furniture and the absolute rage this guy showed. Still, she is a genius (I'd have to punch her out if she did this to me though)

Also, check out the April Fools Day post of Down Goes Brown for some more humourous potential pranks

Best Team Videos - Blues Clues

Oh St Louis Blues, I know nothing about your team other than the Canadiens seem to have made the dumbest goalie decision ever made since Patrick Roy and that you kids are just clever little bumblebees with your team videos: "Blues Clues". Just because of that, this week is theirs.

"Is That All You Got?"

I love his little arms splayed wide, "Happy now?" fake cockiness. What a cutie

Player of the Week: Evgeni Malkin

I decided that Player of the Week for this week (which is technically for last week, I'm just a huge procrastinator and lazy) will be Evgeni Malkin, partially because I am biased and like to choose Pens players and also cause he is just a darn cutie! Aside from his hat trick last week, he has a lil' Russian teenage protege who came all the way over from Russia just to play in a Penguins uniform and wear number 71, even though he barely spoke a word of English. Evgeni probs made this kids dreams come true by meeting him at the Pens practice yesterday (as well as giving him tickets to an upcoming game at Consol)

Yeah I just love that he is a superstar but still made time to meet someone who clearly looks up to him enough to change his entire life in order to be like him. That makes him the true Russian Superstar to me (not like other Russians who go around snowing little Montreal kids, though I won't say any names)

He has had a slow start so far this season (well for him at least, he has 17 points in 19 games which I think most players would be thrilled with) but is starting to shake off the slump and get back up to his point raking in lifestyle, shown by his four point hat trick night this past Saturday against Atlanta

(I think my fave part of this is after his second goal when he totally seems to celebrate by saying "fuck yeah!". Don't pretend like you don't agree)

I also love that he is such a team player and is close friends wit the guys on the team - I mean, sure, I don't actually know that first hand but really, unless you're really good friends with someone, are you going to visit them when you are playing for your respective countries...against each other?

FURTHERMORE, he doesn't back down from a fight, like when Rick Nash tried to pick one with him and Evgeni was like "yeah all right" and then beat the crap out of him. Oh Geno, you silly banana

Plus, like I said before, he is totally Superman. And who doesn't like Superman?

Andrew Ladd Gets the 'C'!!

Ohh yayyy, Andrew Ladd got named the captain of the Atlanta Thrashers (sure, he has only played 18 games with the Thrashers so hey, he didn't eff around at all eh). I love it.

Palace Grill for all!

(Steeger is such a little whiner eh? Haha love it)

Found It!

So I found a link to the Snapshots: Paul Bissonnette interview that aired last night and wooo its viewable in Canada (if you're from the States you don't understand but yeah, I've lost count of the times I've tried to watch something and it be like "This video is not available in your region". Sadness.)

Still trying to find a site that will let me embed it, but for now, you can watch it here.

I know some people will think I'm crazy, but I absolutely love this guy. Like, firstly, I love that he's so appreciative to his parents for all the sacrifices (most players mention this but you still get some cocky guys who don't) and then admitting to crying about his injury from Scranton in 2009 (when someone stepped on his wrist). Like come on, of course a guy would cry at that, but how many would admit it? Yeah, whatever, I just love him and judge away, but this is what my All-Star ballot looks like...

Luckily, I'm not alone because BizNasty has some *loyal* followers. Some guy tweeted to him:
And then he pretty much got *ripped* apart by numerous people. You should check out his twitter and see all the defensive responses he posted to people yelling at him. Haha the guy had a melt down:
BizNasty just laughed it off but he knows his Twitter followers have his back
Hahaha anyways, I've got to stop because, as I'm sure you've noticed, I could go all day about BizNasty.

Big Hockey Night

Lots of hockey news from last night!

Firstly, poor Halak was off his game last night, with the Blues losing to the Red Wings 7 to 3. The first first goal of the game was actually scored by Halak...unfortunately it was on himself. Poor guy. That has to feel so rough.

Meanwhile in Raleigh, Captain Carolina netted a hat trick that encompassed his 200th NHL goal, leading the Hurricanes to a 7-1 win over Ottawa (aaaaahahahahhahaha). I hope Cabbie was there so they could call Mom. Marc shouldn't get all the glory (perhaps I'm still bitter towards Ranger Staal for his shorty against Pittsburgh)

Speaking of captains and their hat tricks, Captain Serious had a natural hat trick against Edmonton, exacting revenge against the struggling team who had won in their two earlier contests. Another thing for him to taunt Kaner with.

And most importantly, the Pens bested the Canucks last night, winning 3-1, with a goal from Crosby and a shorty from Talbot. Fleury stopped 29 of 30 shots, showing that he is indeed gaining confidence and getting back to the goal-tending that he is capable of (woooooo!!) and the PK unit did an amazing job, keeping the Canucks goal-less for 8 minutes and 45 seconds of 5 on 4 action (and actually scoring the short handed goal by Talbot).

I thought they played pretty good.. You know, the guys kept scoring and Flower made the big saves...

As a side note, I am pumped to watch the Snapshots: Paul Bissonnette feature that aired last night. I effing love BizNasty - I think he is absolutely hilarious. PLUS, *I too* love long walks on the beach, fine wine and snuggling. Soul mates.

Watch a preview of the video here - as soon as I find the full interview on YouTube or something, best believe I will post it here. If you are more on the ball than I am and find it, please send it to me!

More "Blackhawks Pranskters" Videos to Come?

Good news all, there may be more hilarious prank features on the Blackhawks TV specials coming up soon as Patrick Sharp is starting to gear up for the upcoming road trip.

In an interview with ESPN, he talked about how the upcoming road-trip (starting with a game against the Oilers tonight) is a good time to loosen up and have some fun - especially because there haven't been any pranks yet. He also revealed that his number one target was going to be Seabs - the *former* roommate. “Well, No. 1 on the hit list is Brent Seabrook, my former roommate. We tried it out and it lasted about three nights. I couldn’t take his superstitions or his constant calling to his girlfriend on the phone and his I-chat on the computer. It was just embarrassing"

He also called Seabs gushiness with his girlfriend "puppy love" and said that his new roomie is Jake Dowell. He also complimented old roomie (who I loveeeee) Adam Burish, “Yeah, Burish is a professional. He was a model roommate. Seabrook is like "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" when you go into the bathroom. There’s one little hand towel and the bathroom is a mess. I have to use the lobby restroom every time I want to go to the bathroom because ours is just a mess. There is so much food ordered to the room; we have such an expensive room service bill. I don’t want to pay for that. Let’s see, what else. He sets his alarm to go off at 3 p.m. everyday because it’s a superstition. I like to sleep from 2-4 on game days and the alarm is going off every 10 minutes starting at 3. So it just didn’t work out.”

There is a bunch of funny other stuff and I have to stop myself from basically copying and pasting the entire thing here so check it out!

As side note, last night was one of the (I predict, though I hope to be wrong) rare times that a Leaf got one of the three stars of the night. So yay for Steeger!!

Also the Hockey Junkies posted the most amazing Hockey Cosmo Quiz ever that you definitely need to check out.

The Leafs Won!!!!!

I think the Leafs knew that I was losing spirit. I'd started just hoping that they'd score, forget actually win the game. So when the Preds were up 3-0 by 11:43 of the first (with the 2nd and 3rd goals scored 10 seconds apart) I basically just heaved a sigh. I was happily relieved that the Leafs wouldn't get blanked when Schenn scored with 30 seconds left of the first.

Then I wandered off to do something, never really thinking the Leafs would be able to come back from a 3 goal deficit, even if they had narrowed it down to 2.

Then the second period BLEW UP. The Leafs banged in four power play goals in just a little over 10 minutes, including 2 goals from Verbeauty and 3 assists from MacArthur. They held on to that one goal lead for the entire third period and BAM!!! The Leafs beat Shea Weber and the Preds. What a delightful surprise - shame on me for doubting them.

Kris Versteeg got the first star of the night with his two goals and is hopefully doing a victory song in the locker room right now or something. I'm sure Grandma Versteeg was screamign "Go Bitch Go!" tonight

In news of other things that made me happy, the Pens played last night and forced an overtime with 2 goals in the last 2 and a half minutes of the game. Then the only Staal in the NHL without a Stanley Cup scored a shorty (which is what actually forced OT) and then Fleury got subjected to a 2-0 and the Rangers won it. However, the Pens still got a point and Lundqvist was looking superhuman with all the saves all game so I'm neutral to slightly pleased (as opposed to pissed about a loss).

Plus Crosby was a friggin faceoff winning machine in the game (I'm talking at one point he was 19/20). Always a stud.

And THEN, the jerk team that is leading the division that the Pens should be leading got blanked by Montreal. Carey Price blocked *41* shots to get the shutout. That is pretty impressive, I've gotta say. He clearly caught up on his bull chasing this past summer

BizNasty's Props to Crosby

Paul Bissonnette recently did an interview with the Vancouver Sun and when he was asked if he liked Gretzky or Lemieux better, this is what he responded:

Sun: Wayne or Mario?
Bissonnette: Mario used to sign my paycheques ... You know what, I’m going to step between them and say Sid [Crosby]. I think Sid’s better than they both ever were. People are going to be like “What you talking about?” But what Sid does with the goalies and the players we have now. Go back and look at Gretzky highlights and he’s taking slappers from outside the blue line and they’re going in. What Sid can do on skates is way more epic than what ... At the time Wayne and Mario were ridiculous, but Sid and [Alex Ovechkin] and [Evgeni] Malkin ... It’s crazy.

Crosby is Second Star of the Week

Crosby was named NHL's second star of the week for this past week.

Crosby tallied eight points (three goals, five assists) last week, helping the Penguins (9-8-1) win two of three starts. Crosby notched multiple points in each game, starting with a goal and two assists in a 7-4 loss to the Boston Bruins on Nov. 10. He recorded one goal and one assist in a 5-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning Nov. 12 and added three points (one goal, two assists) in a 4-2 win over the Atlanta Thrashers Nov. 13. The Penguins captain, who has collected multiple points in each of his past five games, ranks second in League scoring with 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists).

I'm sure he is smiling away

(Carey Price was the first star of the week and Alexander Semin was the third star of the week)

Note: The fourth star of the week goes to Samuel Beauchemin cause this video is the cutest thing ever.

(See more videos of the Leafs Skill Competition here)

Amazing Weekend for the Pens

And I'm back! Well this weekend was definitely a good one for Flower and the Pens. Flower was an absolute champ in net on Friday night - the only goal he allowed was from a 5 on 3 opportunity (on a call from the refs that was compleeetely BS) and the crowd was absolutely going nuts for him. I was a crazy paparazzi at the game so here are some of my fave pics!

Anywho, the game was beyond amazing and the arena is really spectacular. My friends and I even lucked out and got to meet some of the players after the game (Note - Rookies? Super nice. Tyler Kennedy? Not so much, at least not to us.)

I love Sid's smile after he scored. What a cutie!

Moving on! They followed it up with another great game on Saturday night against the Thrashers, with the team superstars shining brightly - Malkin got a hat trick and had a 4 point night and Sid had a three point night (1G,2A). Such studs.

In other news:

The Islanders are sitting on a record of 0-9-1 in their last ten games and with it, have fired the head coach. Ron Wilson next? (The Leafs are sitting at 1-7-2 in the last ten)

All-Star voting has begun! I totally added Jack Johnson, Kris Letang and Paul Bissonnette to my voting options.

The Pens are playing the Rangers tonight and some of the players caught up with former teammate Ruslan Fedetenko. I love that they are still friendly! Such cuteness

Jeff Carter is going to be a Flyer for the next 11 years - reports are saying he signed an 11 year, $58 million contract. He and Mike Richards can continue their bromance for many years to come

Avery was up to his usual antics and pissed off everyone in Edmonton when he seemed to turn down a fight with an Oiler after the player came to teammate Colin Fraser's defense (after a huge hit from Avery) and then basically jumped him. Oilers were maaaaaaaaad.

Best Team Videos - NHL "Cribs"

We all remember the show "MTV Cribs", where stars gave us an inside look on where they live (always with a token look into their fridge so they could show off their Cristal and Dom Perignon. I have Diet Coke in my fridge, in case you guys were wondering. Oh and a Brita.) Well, who wouldn't love "NHL Cribs!"

(For any Caps fans, there are a bunch of "Cabs Cribs", including Brent Johnson [before he came to his senses and became a Pen), Brooks Laich and Ovechkin. But I couldn't have the Caps overtaking the post)

(Sorry this is bad quality but come on, I couldn't leave Flower out)

And of course, how NHL players REALLY live....

Guess What Tonight Is!

The Penguins are at home tonight, playing Tampa Bay and if that's not exciting enough, let's add in that it's hat night!! And guess who has tickets to the game ;)

I'm off to Pittsburgh for the weekend for the game so I won't be posting this weekend but maybe I'll return with a pic of Crosby doing his little spinny warm up on the ice and my life will be complete.

Also, anyone remember what happened on last year's hat night? Just saying.

Have a great weekend!

BizNasty for Captain!

It's actually not unrealistic to think that Paul Bissonnette, with the masses of fans he has accumulated through his Twitter account, may get voted in as a player in the All Star Game (whether or not they count his votes is another thing, I've heard they had left out players that had high votes because they were "joke votes" - then again, those rumours were probably started by bitter Betty's). Anyways, I love his Twitter account and I guess he has been getting a lot of messages (tweets?) from people saying they are going to vote for him so he did an entire series of posts on who he will pick when he is captain:
(Awww love for Geno)

So I realize I just posted a crapload of pictures but I didn't want anyone to miss on on the comedy that is BizNasty. Also, I was going to only post his "choices" for the first two lines but then I saw his comments about Derek Engelland and I just had to include that.

Also, I dont know if when he mentioned his "bromance" he meant just Pyatt but I like to think it's a three way bromance that includes Crosby because I like to think they are still friends
(Okay like, I want to keep going and I would continue to the point where this entire blog is just all BizNasty posts and things from his Twitter so I seriously need to stop.)

Update: Whoops, I lied, I just need to add this one. I swear I'm done.
