The ideas that the guys behind Blackhawks TV come up with never cease to amaze me. This segment is another fantastic example of their creativity.

Drawbacks of Being an NHL Player
The positive aspects of being a professional hockey player are obvious: doing what you love every day - and making a load of money doing it - being the number one aspect. But are there any drawbacks?

Player of the Week: Sidney Crosby
Well, what better time to celebrate all that is Sidney than when he scores the gold-medal-winning goal for your country???
Born in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, he was pretty much born to play professional hockey. He started playing hockey in his basement when he was 2 and basically never stopped. He shone his way through pee-wee, midget and bantam hockey before heading to Shattuk St Mary's boarding school to play for their prestigious team. After a year there, he headed to Rimouski to play Quebec Major Junior League hockey for the Oceanic. He was drafted first overall in the 2005 Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins and had huge expectations thrust upon him.
Cut to him going above and beyond meeting all those expectations: he had over 100 points as a rookie and was named Alternate Captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins just a few months into his rookie season (December); in his second year, he got his first hat trick, and added the Art Ross, Lester B Pearson and Hart Memorial Trophies to his trophy cabinet. Oh yeah, he was also named team captain at the end of his second season, making him the youngest full captain in history. All before he was 20.
Oh yeah, add in youngest full captain to lead his team to a Stanley Cup victory!
Oh yeah, as if being one of the best hockey players in the world wasn't enough, he's not too hard on the eyes either:
He takes hockey seriously, obv, but he also seems to be a fun guy!
Side note, I LOVE that Geno and Sid were still besties at the Olympics, despite playing for their respective home teams!
